Business Ethernet for redundant site networking
An ideal solution, for instance, if you run your own computer centre, where maximum availability and security are top priority. Private virtual Ethernet circuits (VPWS) over our nationwide MPLS network with flexible bandwidths of 1 Mbit/s to 1 Gbit/s ensure that your sites are reliably incorporated into your WAN network. You can take care of routing yourself, allowing you complete freedom to set up your corporate network to suit your particular requirements. With layer 2 services Business Ethernet offers you various alternatives for an optional redundant Ethernet connection..
Business Ethernet from upc cablecom business is a virtual Ethernet connection (Virtual Private Wire Service) for connecting two Ethernet end devices like a router or Ethernet bridge. Depending on the capacity of the connection line, one or more Ethernet connections can be terminated on a single connection. The Ethernet connection is identified via a VLAN tag. The service port can be a trunk (802.1Q) or access port. In DSL connections, four access ports or a trunk port are supported by a maximum of four VLANs. VLAN transparency, i.e. the transparent transfer of the VLAN tags, is available for optical fibre connections using the QinQ option.
