Keep your telephone number
upc cablecom business makes it easy for you to keep your existing telephone number if you change to us. So all your contacts can continue to reach you on the usual number. How it works:
After you sign up we will send you an authorisation form for phone number porting. Please return this form to us as quickly as possible. By signing this form, you authorise us
1. To port your existing phone number
2. To cancel your subscription with your current provider.
Once we have received your signed form, it takes approximately 20 working days to port your phone number(s) and to install Digital Phone. To do so, a technician will come to your premises to set up and check Digital Phone (and Business Internet if you have ordered this at the same time) to make sure it suits your business requirements. This is provided that the cable network equipment on your premises does not need to be modernised first.
FAQ – Frequently asked questions
How many telephone lines/numbers do I get?
Business Voice Digital Phone provides you with two lines/numbers. You can extend this to four with two extra lines/numbers. We recommend a virtual telephone system if you need more than four lines. The smallest possible Virtual PBX solution is for 5 participants.
What kind of telephone devices do I need for Digital Phone?
Digital Phone is based on VoIP technology and is run via the Internet. Voice quality is the same on the data network as on a conventional connection because we prioritise the voice packages. The ATA adapter (which converts the VoIP signal into an analogue signal) allows you to use Digital Phone with conventional analogue telephone devices. You can purchase these at specialist retailers from less than CHF 10.-
Can I link between the two or four lines?
With Digital Phone it is not possible to link from one line to another. We recommend our virtual telephone system Business Voice Virtual PBX for this function.
Can I keep my telephone numbers?
Yes, you can port telephone numbers to upc cablecom business (provided they do not belong to a DDI block). After you place your order, you will receive a porting form, which authorises us to terminate your existing telephone connection and to port the numbers.
Will I benefit from flat-rates?
Digital Phone Flatrate Swiss (or SME Smart Duo) allows you to benefit from free calls to the Swiss fixed network. With Digital Phone Flatrate Global (or SME KMU Power Duo) you can even make free calls to the fixed network of 34 countries including Switzerland.
Can I set up an answering machine?
Yes, you will receive all your voicemail messages by e-mail.
Can I use this solution as a fax?
The “Web Fax” function enables you to send and receive faxes as a PDFs without a fax machine.
